“Accentuate the Positive, Eliminate the Negative, Don’t Mess with Mr In-Between”

Listening to desert Island Discs one day, the castaway chose the above song as one of his recordings. It is a very catchy song, but that was not what attracted my attention. No! As I listened and sang along I couldn’t help thinking about SWOC.
SWOC is a small club, on a small site, miles from any habitation. Now, you may think these are negatives, but we believe they are positives. We are small enough for everyone to get to know each other: more like an extended family. Our remote location places us in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the approach road affords us the most fantastic panoramic views for over 30 miles over North Dorset and Somerset. We are adjacent to a nature reserve and share our little idyll with pheasants and innumerable species of birds, deer, squirrels, and rabbits.
We do not have mains water or mains electricity, but we do have a rainwater harvesting system for flushing toilets, and LPG gas for cooking and lighting. We bring our own drinking water or collect it from 2 miles away. Thus we eliminate the negative.
And SWOC members “Don’t mess with Mr In-Between” either. They punch above their weight by pulling together, having fun, and offering unrivalled hospitality.
